The name of this blog is taken out of two different songs that keep me going, while there are many, as you may have seen on my playlist, these two sum up that whats most important.
I wanted to write down the part of the lyrics that mean the most but also share the songs for you to listen in case you had not heard them before.
The first one is "Roar" by Katy Perry which I guess that many of you have heard before. I am going to let the following lyrics speak for itself.
I
used to bite my tongue and hold my breath
Scared to rock the boat and make a mess
So I sat quietly, agreed politely
I guess that I forgot I had a choice
I let you push me past the breaking point
I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything
Scared to rock the boat and make a mess
So I sat quietly, agreed politely
I guess that I forgot I had a choice
I let you push me past the breaking point
I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything
You
held me down, but I got up
Already brushing off the dust
You hear my voice, your hear that sound
Like thunder, gonna shake your ground
You held me down, but I got up
Get ready 'cause I've had enough
I see it all, I see it now
Already brushing off the dust
You hear my voice, your hear that sound
Like thunder, gonna shake your ground
You held me down, but I got up
Get ready 'cause I've had enough
I see it all, I see it now
I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter
Dancing through the fire
'Cause I am the champion, and you're gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion
'Cause I am a champion, and you're gonna hear me roar!

The second one, and the one that very often gets me through the day is "Afterglow" by Vanessa Carlton. An artist that even with just her piano and melody that it gives, takes you somewhere where honest truth lays and always has. Many of my friends have also asked me what I mean by Afterglow, well here is what that stands for;
Just when the days start getting colder
I walk the streets I never knew
And there's some words I never told you
The sound rings out like the truth
I walk the streets I never knew
And there's some words I never told you
The sound rings out like the truth
And if you could see
What's come over me
Then you would know
Cause I'm walking free
The wind at my back
Bathed in afterglow
What's come over me
Then you would know
Cause I'm walking free
The wind at my back
Bathed in afterglow
And as I sit here in this dark room
All I seem to feel is light
And I see color
I see the maroon
In the blood of this life that's ours
All I seem to feel is light
And I see color
I see the maroon
In the blood of this life that's ours
And the song ends with;
Cause I'm walking free
The wind at my back
Bathed in afterglow
The wind at my back
Bathed in afterglow
